MURAL FESTIVAL MADE POSSIBLE THANKS TO GRINDSTONE + MINBID

The Edmonton Mural Festival is a non-profit organization that brings local, national and international artists to Edmonton and the greater area to create vibrant murals on the walls of buildings in the city and rural land. The festival aims to beautify while promoting art and culture. However, the festival wouldn't be possible without the help of two partners: Grindstone Theatre and MINBID Art Auctions and Gallery.

Grindstone Theatre is an Edmonton-based theatre company that produces original works of comedy like "Jason Kenny's Hot Boy Summer" and "Die Harsh The Christmas Musical". They also provide event services such as booking music and comedy acts for the Edmonton Mural Festival. The Grindstone team also organizes most of our public and ticketed events during the festival celebration from mid-August to mid-September.

The music and comedy acts are an important part of the festival experience. The public events, which are free to attend, feature a range of local and international musicians playing everything from folk to hip hop. The ticketed events are held in unique and intimate venues, such as the top of a parking garage or an outdoor amphitheatre, and feature stand-up comedy and live music.

In addition to providing entertainment, Grindstone's involvement helps to activate public spaces during the festival. By hosting events in unexpected locations and bringing in diverse performers, the festival is able to attract a wide range of people to experience the murals and the city in a new way.

MINBID Art Auctions and Gallery, on the other hand, specializes in edgy underground art and has been a major player in Edmonton's art scene for several years. They provide event services such as live art auctions and art exhibition in partnership with the Edmonton Mural Festival. MINBID's involvement in the Edmonton Mural Festival includes bringing in artists to create murals, hosting art exhibitions and auctions, and offering workshops and artist talks.

MINBID's involvement in the festival helps to support and promote the visual arts community in Edmonton. By bringing in artists from all over the world to create murals, the festival is able to showcase a range of styles and techniques. The art auctions and exhibitions provide an opportunity for collectors and enthusiasts to purchase works by both local and international artists, and the talks help to engage the community and foster a deeper appreciation of the arts.

By working together, the festival and its partners are able to showcase Edmonton's vibrant cultural scene and make the city a more beautiful place to live and visit.
